SOUTH AFRICA MOVES TO LEVEL 3, WHAT IT MEANS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY?
Since the lockdown came into effect on 27th March 2020, construction sites across the South Africa have been shut. This has put pressure on companies in the industry, especially on their balance sheet. Prolonged lockdown without economic activities could potentially lead to bankruptcy.
Hence, the decision by President Cyril Ramaphosa on May 24 brought cheer to industry stakeholders. Starting June 1, construction sites will open and adhere strictly to the health and safety protocols that are in place as government will continue to monitor the situation across the country.
